Comments
When visitors leave a comment on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. You can find Gravatar’s privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download and extract location data from images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Upon logging in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser, which contains no personal data; it simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It lasts for 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Bookings and Accommodation
If you make a booking or submit an inquiry with us, we process the data necessary to fulfill the booking and provide services:
- identification and contact details: name, surname, email, phone;
- stay details: dates, location/property, number of guests, preferences, special requests;
- billing and accounting data to the extent required by law;
- communication with you (questions, additional information). Legal bases: performance of a contract and pre-contractual relations (booking processing), fulfillment of legal obligations (accounting, taxes), and our legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, service improvement). Payments: if you use online payment, it is processed by our trusted payment partner. Credit card data does not pass through our server. From the payment partner, we only receive information about the success of the payment and technical identifiers necessary to link it with the booking. Retention and deletion: we retain booking data for the duration of the contractual relationship and subsequently for the period required by accounting and tax regulations. Operational logs and security records are usually kept for up to 12 months, unless required longer by law.
Marketing and Discounts
We may use your email to send you news, offers, and discounts related to our properties and services.
- Legal basis: your consent (e.g., newsletter subscription) or our legitimate interest in the case of existing customers, while you always have the right to object to marketing.
- Unsubscribe: you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.
- Sharing: we never sell or provide your contacts to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may use trusted processors (e.g., email marketing tools) to send emails, who process data exclusively according to our instructions.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties for their own purposes. We only share data with:
- providers of hosting, website maintenance, security, and anti-spam services;
- providers of booking, payment, and email marketing tools who act as processors;
- public authorities, if required by law. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically.
If you register (if available), we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.
We retain booking data for the period necessary to fulfill the contract and legal obligations (especially accounting and tax), typically for the legally stipulated period.
Marketing contacts are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until the inactivity period expires according to our internal rules.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, have left comments, or made a booking, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, object to processing (including direct marketing), and withdraw consent at any time if consent is the legal basis.
If you believe that we are not handling your data in accordance with legal regulations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Slovakia: Office for Personal Data Protection).
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Booking data may be processed through a secure booking system and a payment partner. We have data processing agreements with these partners and require appropriate technical and organizational measures.
International Transfers
If our processors transfer data outside the EU/EEA, this only occurs with appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) and with protection at the level required by legal regulations.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including transmission encryption (TLS/HTTPS), access restrictions, and regular system maintenance.
Children
Our services are not intended for individuals under 16 years of age without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children without such consent.
Changes to these policies
We may update these policies from time to time. The current version is always available on this page; we will notify you of significant changes appropriately.
